What you can add:

• Dispense in-patient, one-stop and discharge medication requests including stock supplies and distribution of drugs to wards and peripheral hospitals as per standard operating procedures.
• Dispense ward stock and TTO (to take out) controlled drugs, ensuring that prescriptions and orders conform to the Misuse of Drugs Act.
• Be the Accredited Checking Pharmacy Technician (ACPT) and complete final accuracy checking slots within the dispensary if needed.
• Monitor the Emergency and Controlled Drug cupboards, ensuring stock and orders are placed, specimen signatures are updated, monthly stock takes are done, and ward requisitions are completed within turnaround times while escalating any discrepancies.
• Provide a ward top-up service of stock medicines if required and work with the ward manager, pharmacist, and pharmacy stores team to support stock list review as needed.

What you’ll need:

• Band 6 Pharmacy Technicians & Band 6 Pharmacists will be considered depending upon experience & qualifications.
• Professional Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
• Be an Accredited Checking Technician.
• NVQ level 3 Pharmacy services or BTEC in Pharmaceutical Sciences or SCOTVEC or equivalent.
• Experience or awareness of ward-based or medicine management technician roles.
