Job Description

Care Assistant for a young woman @ £13.74/hr in Prudhoe - FTE - £26.8k

We are currently looking to recruit a team of Support Workers to provide support for a 28-year-old female who lives in her own home. This young lady is diagnosed with moderate learning difficulties, Autism, A.D.H.D., and hypotonia.

The purpose of your role will be to enable her to live in her own home and continue to have independence.

This young lady requires a staff team of 8 people, male/female, with 2 staff at all times covering 12-hour shifts including nights. These shifts can be adjusted if needed depending on the applicant.

She requires carers who have a positive, outgoing personality with a good sense of humour. You should be fit and have good general health as she enjoys walking, swimming, and trampolining. Her favourite activity is shopping, but this can be overstimulating, so it occurs once or twice a week.

She can be complex and exhibit challenging behaviour, so we are looking for empathetic carers who understand her needs.

Experience is preferred but not essential as training will be provided.

As you will be working as part of a staff team, you will need to be comfortable collaborating with others and possess good communication skills.

Drivers are preferred but not essential. She has a mobility car available for social and domestic use on her behalf.

In addition to a high standard of personal care required in this role, you will also be responsible for carrying out domestic duties within the household as needed.

Hours - 2:1 support to cover 12-hour shifts including nights. Please state on your application the hours you are able to support. Up to 42 hours per week available.
