Positions Available
Two posts have become available within the Genetic Service for suitably experienced Clinical Scientists within the East of Scotland Regional Genetic Laboratory Service, Ninewells Hospital, Dundee. This is an excellent opportunity for a Clinical Scientist to advance their career in a more senior role. The positions would suit motivated applicants with extensive experience post-HCPC registration as a Clinical Scientist gained in an NHS Genomic laboratory service.
Role Responsibilities
Successful applicants will be appointed as deputies for the Section Leads for Rare and Inherited Disease or Somatic Cancer, depending on expertise. A detailed knowledge of a variety of genomic technologies is essential. Applicants must also have experience of regulatory compliance and a strong commitment to continuing professional development.

The laboratory provides a modern, high-quality genomic testing service for NHS Tayside and the rest of Scotland through the Scottish Strategic Network for Genomic Medicine. Co-located with other laboratory disciplines within Ninewells Hospital, the laboratory provides a testing service for inherited conditions, acquired disease (solid and haematological malignancies), and pharmacogenomics. In addition, the laboratory is the designated national centre for non-invasive prenatal testing. The Dundee laboratory offers high standards in terms of facilities and expertise to support staff professional and career development.
You will be required to achieve the mandatory Induction standards for Healthcare Support Workers in Scotland and to comply with the Code of Conduct throughout your employment.
