Job Description

You will support the clinical team in providing safe, family-centred care before and after procedures, and during follow-up reviews (in-person and virtual).

Key responsibilities:

  • Assist with pre- and post-procedure reviews for babies, children and adolescents.
  • Take and record vital signs, medical history and medication updates.
  • Provide parent education and reassurance around recovery, pain control and home care (within agreed protocols).
  • Support infant feeding reviews (breast and bottle), especially where feeding has been challenging.
  • Help deliver and document virtual and in-person follow-up appointments.
  • Maintain accurate, clear clinical notes on our practice software (training provided).
  • Assist with clinic flow – preparing rooms, infection control, stock checks and general organisation.
  • Liaise with our wider network (lactation consultants, osteopaths, therapists and dentists) to coordinate care.

  • Registered Nurses (NMC)
  • Registered Midwives (NMC)

Essential:

  • Current NMC registration.
  • Minimum 1–2 years’ post-registration experience.
  • Comfortable working with babies, children and their parents/carers.
  • Confident communicator with excellent listening and reassurance skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced private clinical setting and adapt as the service grows.

Desirable (but not required – training can be provided):

  • Experience in paediatrics, neonatal, community, midwifery, ENT, dental or minor surgery.
  • Additional training/experience in lactation, infant feeding or breastfeeding support.
  • Experience with virtual consultations / telehealth.
  • Interest in sleep, breathing, growth and development in children.
