About The Role
Do you want to make a real difference and help people with sight loss live the life they choose? We’re looking for an Accounts Payable Manager to lead our Payable Team and ensure that suppliers, employees, and volunteers are paid accurately and on time.
As Accounts Payable Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the Accounts & Canine Health Payable Team. You will ensure compliance with procedures, maintain high standards of accuracy, and support the organisation’s financial operations. This is a key role in optimising cash flow and delivering exceptional service to internal and external stakeholders.
You will manage and coach the Accounts & Canine Health Payable Team, carrying out quarterly performance reviews and supporting their professional growth. Working closely with the Financial Controller, you will keep procedures and documentation up to date, ensuring compliance and identifying cost-saving opportunities. You will oversee the timely and accurate processing of purchase invoices, veterinary invoices, expenses, and petty cash, collaborating with the National Dog Welfare Team where needed. You will also manage payment runs, payroll, foreign currency transactions, and ad hoc payments, ensuring accuracy and optimising cash flow. In addition, you will ensure clinical health data is accurately input into Salesforce/GDI-r and resolve any exceptions promptly.
To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • Proven experience in managing an Accounts Payable function
  • Strong leadership and coaching skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams while managing multiple priorities
  • Knowledge of financial systems and processes (experience with Salesforce/GDI-r would be an advantage)

    This role will be based at our Reading office a minimum of 2 days per week, working closely with the team. You’ll be working 35 hours per week, worked 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.
