Job Description

We are looking for sociable and interactive individuals in Bridport, Dorset, and the surrounding areas. Your great sense of humour and banter, paired with a good heart and the desire to make a difference, is just what we need in our service users care package.

Our service user is an easy-going gentleman who loves a laugh and engaging with his care team. His hobbies include listening to music, gaming, and Dodger, his dog! With the support of a loyal and supportive care team, he would love to get back into fishing, a fulfilling pastime of his. Regular routine is paramount for our service user, as well as frequent contact with his family.

No experience is necessary for this role; full training will be provided. However, if you live outside of Bridport, you must be a driver.

Role Responsibilities

As a healthcare assistant in this package of care, you will:

  • Support your service user with their physical care needs, including personal care, mobility, nutrition, and comfort.
  • Deliver person-centered care according to bespoke care plans.
  • Promote independence and respect each service user's spiritual, psychological, and cultural needs.
  • Maintain accurate care records.
  • Assist with communication between patients, their families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Administer prescribed medication or clinical tasks after completing our advanced training and competency sign-off.
  • Monitor and report any changes in patient condition to the Regional Nurse Manager.
  • Contribute to a supportive, high-standard care environment.

Clinical Skills

Please note that whilst experience in these areas is desirable, we will provide service user specific training:

  • Catheter Care.
  • Client is wheelchair dependent and requires moving and handling.
  • Supporting with medication administration.
  • Providing companionship.
  • Personal Care.
  • Spinal Cord Injury Care.
  • Supporting with daily activities.

The Successful Applicant In This Role Will Be

  • Enthusiastic with a willingness to learn.
  • Passionate, dedicated, and empathetic.
  • A driving licence is preferred for this role.
  • Experience is not essential for this position.

Pay Rates

  • £14.50/hour during weekdays day shifts (Monday-Fridays)
  • £15.00/hour during weekday night shifts
  • £15.00/hour during weekend day shifts
  • £16.00/hour during weekend night shifts
  • £22.00/hour during all day Bank holidays
  • £9.00/hour Sleeping Nights

Working Pattern

  • Full time – Varied Shifts – 36-48 hrs a week.
  • Day Shift: 08:00am – 08:00pm
  • Night Shift: 08:00pm – 08:00am
