We operate a seven-day service, including bank holidays, between the hours of 08:00 and 20:00, and the post holder will be required to work across all these times to deliver the service. Flexibility is a key component as service requirements are continually changing to meet the needs of the patients.

Relevant posts will be subject to an enhanced DBS disclosure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain patient dignity and confidentiality at all times.
  • Adhere to Trust Aseptic Non-Touch Technique Policy (ANTT).
  • Work unsupervised in hospital settings, community clinics, and undertaking domiciliary (home) visits, along with business insurance.
  • Keep fully stocked Phlebotomy trolleys, cupboards, and drawers within blood collecting units and clinics; support stock taking in community settings.
  • Maintain work areas and trolleys, keeping them clean, neat, and tidy.
  • Undertake surveys/audits when requested.
  • Attend to staff and patient queries, referring appropriately.
  • Comply with all Health and Safety Regulations.
  • Use a visual display unit to book appointments and access the Trust intranet, Q-pulse, and work-related e-mails.
  • Commit to working a seven-day service inclusive of bank holidays between 08:00 and 20:00 with flexibility to adapt to service needs.
  • Cover for other staff when required.
  • Perform any duties as defined by the Phlebotomy Operations Manager and Team Leader in charge.
