Occupational Therapist Band 7
Location: Milton Keynes
Salary: £23,477 per annum

This is a unique opportunity to provide specialist Occupational Therapy (OT) interventions within the SECURE STAIRS framework, a trauma-informed, psychologically led model focused on the emotional wellbeing and rehabilitation of young people.

The Role
As a Band 7 Occupational Therapist, You'll:

  • Manage a caseload of young people with complex needs using evidence-based, person-centred approaches
  • Conduct specialist assessments and deliver tailored OT interventions
  • Work closely within a multi-disciplinary team (MDT) to plan and implement individual and group-based therapies
  • Support the development of trauma-informed practice within the secure environment
  • Provide supervision, leadership, and clinical guidance to junior team members

This role combines hands-on therapy with professional development and offers a chance to be part of an impactful, supportive service built around recovery and rehabilitation.

About You
You Are An HCPC-registered Occupational Therapist with:

  • Experience supporting children or young people with neurodevelopmental or mental health needs
  • Knowledge of DSM-5 diagnostic criteria and assessment tools for autism and ADHD
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Experience with sensory integration or neurodevelopmental assessments (Ayres Sensory Integration trained ideal)
  • Ideally trained in ADOS-2/ADI-R and experienced in secure, hospital, or community settings

Additional Information
This position requires a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check in line with the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975.
Applicants must have lived and worked in the UK for the past 5 years, with no more than a 28-day break abroad and no unexplained employment gaps.
The post holder may be required to undertake other reasonable duties as the service evolves.
