We have an exciting opportunity for a Primary Care Clinical Lead to join our Primary Care team at HMP Ford, a category D Prison located in Ford. This is an exciting time to be part of an integrated and friendly team who are currently planning and embedding the integrated pathway around release and transfer, early days custody and unscheduled care. They currently hold around 350 prisoners but this will increase to 780 when they go through their new build phase, where all teams will be on one site. A similar setting to a GP Practice. Lots of development opportunities.

Working Monday to Friday 08:00am - 18:00
Weekend cover where required to support team holidays

Salary
You’ll receive an annual salary up to £58,012 per annum FTE - depending on experience.

What you'll be doing
As a Primary Care Clinical Lead, your responsibilities will vary. You will:

  • Provide clinical leadership and management to the registered nurses and care teams.
  • Deputise on behalf of the Deputy/Head of Healthcare when required.
  • Work closely with partners to maintain a robust, high quality clinical service for patients. Ensure that own clinical practice is consistent with autonomous practice within the role.
  • Model a culture of compassion, care, courage, commitment, communication and competence.
  • As Clinical Lead, you will coach, line manage and develop clinician staff; support and contribute in undertaking audits and governance and contribute to developing and reviewing clinical/non-clinical Local Operating Protocols for the site.
  • Chair and facilitate specific healthcare meetings with the team and different partners, provide clinical supervision (training available) and carry out investigations locally and for the wider region.

Requirements

  • NMC Registered Nurse – Adult
  • Evidence of Continued Professional Development
  • Understanding of the complexities of multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working
  • A non-judgmental and compassionate approach
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Existing line management experience and student nurse mentorship

Although not essential, ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
