Parklands Residential Home is situated in the Malpas area of Newport and provides accommodation, care and support for 26 people. The home has 11 bedrooms utilized for long-term residential care and 15 bedrooms for short-term re-enablement and/or assessment (Step up & Step down).

We are looking for highly motivated, flexible, and enthusiastic individuals to join our team. A 20-hour post is available alongside additional hours if you choose to support coverage of the home.

As a Care and Support Officer, you will:

  • Support our long-term residents in all aspects of daily living.
  • Deliver meaningful activities that stimulate and encourage physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing.
  • Work with individuals to enable them to return home whenever possible, helping them regain confidence and the skills necessary for independent living.

This culture actively promotes human rights, focusing on putting people at the center of their care and support, enabling them to exercise voice and control over the process and outcomes that will help them achieve wellbeing.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a care setting is essential.
  • Candidates should hold or be willing to work towards the Social Care Wales required qualification for the role.
  • A 2-week set rota pattern will be required, including every other weekend, with flexibility to meet service needs.
  • The set rota pattern is as follows:
    • Week 1: Weds 7:00-14:30 & Sat 7:00-14:30
    • Week 2: Sun 7:30-14:30, Mon 7:00-14:30, Thurs 15:00-21:30, Fri 14:30-21:30 (includes a 30-minute unpaid break).

You will receive excellent managerial support with training and development opportunities.
