Job Description

Are you a Band 6 Nurse looking to work in an environment that develops your knowledge, leadership skills, and experience?
If you have answered yes, then I believe that Maple Ward is the right place for you.
Meadowfield is an acute mental health hospital in Worthing, and we are part of Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. We have three wards at Meadowfield:

  • Rowan and Maple for working age patients
  • Larch Ward for patients over the age of 65
We also have a new POS (136 suite) which consists of a secure outdoor space, separate accommodation, assessment, and office space. ECT and Neuromodulation services are also provided at Meadowfield, as well as The Haven, which is a 24/7 crisis assessment unit that provides an alternative to A&E for comprehensive biopsychosocial crisis assessments for any adult aged 18 or over who is not subject to the Mental Health Act.
We are an open unit, and our open doors are something that we are very proud of, bringing a very different feel to the unit compared to those that do not use this approach.
And we would like you to be a part of our team during these exciting times.
This post offers the Trust's £2,000 Golden Hello or Relocation Incentive for Band 6 Nurses & Practitioners (pro rata and subject to terms and conditions; please see attached Protocol Document for full details).
We are looking for experienced mental health nurses who are motivated, dynamic, and forward-thinking. You will have a commitment to maintaining and improving service user-centered care to the highest standards. Working as part of the multi-disciplinary team, you will be able to demonstrate sound communication and clinical skills and be willing to develop these. In return, you will benefit from working in a therapeutic environment conducive to the treatment and recovery of people with acute functional mental health problems.
Skills and training will be fully utilized and developed through clinical supervision and training opportunities, as well as Trust essential training and an Emerging Leadership Course. There are plenty of opportunities for career development.
We would like to create an environment where service users, nurses, nurse associates, nursing assistants, and carers are all leaders and are actively involved in making decisions about our services.
We’re a large NHS Mental Health Trust in South East England. We’re looking for people to help us provide high-quality services for the patients, carers, and local communities we serve.
    Your Benefits
  • Access to a host of discount schemes including reductions on fuel, high street and online purchases, as well as Blue Light Card advantages!
  • A position within a Trust that offers flexible working
  • Generous holiday entitlement (starting at 27 days + 8 bank holidays)
  • Excellent NHS Pension
  • Discounted gym memberships
  • Free parking on-site
We’d love you to join our organisation that is rated ‘good’ overall and ‘outstanding’ for caring by the Care Quality Commission.
