Job Description

As a Senior Care Assistant, we ask for you to care for our residents like they are your own family, addressing their physical, psychological, and social needs. You will assist residents with personal care activities such as washing, personal hygiene, dressing, and assisting with meals. In this role, you will also be responsible for the medication round and leading the shift. We welcome applications from candidates who have previously worked as a Senior Care Assistant, Care Giver, Homecare Worker, or Community Support Worker. We provide full training and also welcome candidates who do not have previous senior experience but have a passion for care with a valid qualification.

About You:

  • Level 3 in Health & Social Care, or care certificate (desirable, not essential as all training is provided).
  • Previous experience working in a Care Home environment (desirable but not essential).
  • Experience of leading a team.
  • A committed and organised approach.
  • A confident communicator with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Flexibility to work shifts.

Other Duties:

  • Attend Staff Meetings.
  • Maintain personal and professional development to meet the changing needs and demands of the home; participate in appropriate training and encourage and support staff in their development and training.
  • Ensure a full understanding of safeguarding responsibilities and work to reduce the risk of abuse or neglect to adults who need care and support. Safeguard adults in a way that recognizes their choice and control. Adhere to safeguarding and whistle-blowing policies at all times.
  • Provide evidence of any untaken training.
  • Comply with fire procedures and health and safety legislation, and work in a safe environment.
  • Complete all training as determined by the home.
