Job Description

We are currently looking for a proactive and forward-thinking Paralegal to join our friendly Community Care team based in Reading. The position is primarily a support role rather than a fee-earning one, providing essential assistance to the Partner and wider team.

As part of this role, the candidate will be required to attend our offices in Reading 2-3 days each week with the ability to be flexible.

Work type:

Ensure file management, case management, and administration are kept up to date.
Assist/provide holiday cover during absences of other fee earners.
Achieve personal target(s).
Assist the practice group in achieving target(s).
Develop and achieve firm benchmarks for your role.
Instruct agents in accordance with your team’s requirements.
Diary management.
Document handling on behalf of fee earners.
Billing management.
Depending on candidate's experience, assist with other ad hoc fee earning tasks.
Assisting with screening new potential clients.

Experience/ Attributes required:

2+ years of experience working within a similar role.
Work unsupervised on administration elements of files.
Demonstrate good verbal and written communication skills.
Good interpersonal skills.
Work effectively in a team and on your own.
Ensure that all tasks allocated by team members are completed in a timely manner.
Good keyboard and Microsoft Office skills.
Manage competing priorities and deadlines independently.
Good record keeping.
