If you're an experienced Mental Health Nurse, Occupational Therapist, or Social Worker, we're looking for a part-time clinician to join our CAMHS team based in Swindon on a 12-month Fixed Term Contract.

As the Mental Health Liaison Lead Practitioner, you will:

  • Act in a lead role for the liaison service at the district general hospital in Swindon, Great Western Hospital.
  • Provide leadership and clinical support for the Mental Health Liaison Service.
  • Ensure a consistent, responsive, high-quality, and user-friendly service is delivered.

You will make a meaningful contribution to our exciting service modernisation, ensuring children and young people get the right support, at the right time, in the right place, from individuals with the right skills.

You can expect:

In this role, you will:

  • Sit within Swindon Community CAMHS and undertake comprehensive assessments of young people with mental health needs who present to the acute District General Hospital in Swindon.
  • Work as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team offering assessment, treatment, and consultation either in the clinic base or out in the community.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Risk assessment and management, including the need for positive risk taking.
  • Contributing to the clinical leadership of the team.
  • Providing supervision for other team members.
  • Developing an area of clinical leadership within Swindon Community CAMHS.
  • Assessment of deliberate self-harm.
  • Support to patients admitted with an eating disorder.
  • Contributing a psycho-social perspective to patients admitted.
  • Providing day support and consultation to hospital staff where a mental health need is identified.
  • Identifying and providing CAMHS training, potentially involving other CAMHS colleagues.
  • Providing the primary link to CAMHS within the acute District General Hospital.
  • Developing an area of clinical leadership/specialism within Swindon Community CAMHS.
