Job Description

Role
Are you looking for a role where you can earn while you learn? We are seeking Pre-registration Pharmacy Technician level 3 Apprentices to join us.
Pharmacy technicians are registered professionals working within the regulatory standards for pharmacy as set by the General Pharmaceutical Council.
Our Pre-registration Pharmacy Technician Apprentices undertake a 2-year distance learning training programme with the University of East Anglia with lots of support from our dedicated and experienced training team. You will attend a virtual training to study for the coursework for your Certificate of Higher Education in Pharmacy Technician Practice.
To be eligible to apply for the Pre-registration Trainee Apprentice, you will need:

  • 4 GCSE’s at grade C/4 or above including Maths, English and science (or a combined science award with one qualification at C/4 or above plus another GCSE).
  • Maths and English Functional skills levels 2 can also be accepted.
Pharmacy experience is not essential but would be desirable; however, a NVQ2 in pharmacy is not an alternative to the academic requirements above. You will be required to produce original copies of certificates at the interview. If you do not hold UK qualifications, please ensure you have a statement of comparability showing that your qualifications are equivalent to the above GCSE levels.
Your role will involve learning all aspects of the operational functions of the Pharmacy department and being able to accurately carry out these functions under the supervision and professional direction of a Pharmacist or Pharmacy technician. You will complete the Certificate of Higher Education in Pharmacy Technician Practice (Apprenticeship) with the University of East Anglia to develop the skills and knowledge in all areas of hospital pharmacy practice required to become a qualified, registered Pharmacy Technician.
We are looking for hardworking and enthusiastic people who are interested in a healthcare career which has varied rotations and gives you a grounding in all aspects of pharmacy technician roles in hospital. We expect you to commit to the 2-year training programme, including all practical and academic aspects, supported by your excellent organisational skills.
