Specialist Radiographer - Interventional Radiology

The interventional service at Royal Preston Hospital provides a wide range of interventional procedures for patients across the Lancashire and South Cumbria network. You will be expected to:

• Work in a range of different interventional radiology suites, utilizing the Philips Azurion Flex-arm and the Artis Zeego in our hybrid theatre.
• Assist in the day-to-day running of the service in conjunction with the Lead Radiographer, including research, stock control, arranging patient appointments, undertaking audits, and other non-administrative duties.
• Work closely with other members of the multidisciplinary team to ensure excellent patient care is delivered and high-quality imaging techniques are performed.

You will be responsible for:

• Planning and allocation of work in the specific area of the department assigned to ensure the timely delivery of an effective service.
• Monitoring and maintaining standards of professional practice, supervising more junior staff, and deploying staff to assure standards are met.
• Providing leadership and direction to the team, acting as a role model and patient advocate.
• Assessing, planning, and making informed decisions on the required imaging examinations, providing advice and maintaining associated records.
• Supporting the aims and vision of the Trust and taking personal responsibility for the quality of the service provided.
