Position: Practice Manager
Location: Reading
Package: £50,000 - £60,000, 1 day WFH, private medical, standard holiday and pension
Working hours: Monday – Friday, 37.5 hours per week

Practice Manager Job Overview

  • Run the day-to-day operations of the practice, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and smooth workflows.
  • Streamline systems and processes to improve productivity and client delivery.
  • Oversee finances — including billing, WIP, debtor control, and performance reporting.
  • Support and lead the team, managing admin staff, recruitment, training, and performance.
  • Drive compliance and quality across GDPR, AML, and professional standards.
  • Manage client onboarding and ensure a seamless client experience from start to finish.
  • Monitor practice KPIs and support partners with management information and decision-making.
  • Champion technology and innovation, managing practice software and digital systems.
  • Coordinate resources and scheduling, keeping jobs and deadlines on track.
  • Be the go-to problem solver for operational challenges and continuous improvement.

Practice Manager Job Requirements

  • ACCA or ACA qualified is preferred; however, QBE will also be considered.
  • Experience as an Accountancy Practice Manager is advantageous.
  • Must have a minimum of 7 years Accountancy Practice experience, with some form of leadership experience. Role is suited to Practice Managers, experienced seniors, client managers, senior client managers, etc.
  • Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Must be comfortable commuting to Reading.

Practice Manager Salary & Benefits

  • Salary dependant on experience, ranging from £50,000 - £60,000 (can be higher DOE).
  • 1 day a week working from home, after probation.
