Job Description

The Occupational Health (OH) department at East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust is a dedicated in-house service, committed to supporting the health and wellbeing of our workforce.

As a SEQOHS-accredited service, we take pride in delivering safe, effective, and high-quality care to all employees who use our service.

We are a modern, responsive, and dynamic OH team, well-equipped to meet the evolving needs of both our local NHS staff and the broader national workforce agenda — including initiatives such as the ‘Growing OH’ programme.

Our service is constantly developing and improving, with a forward-thinking approach that ensures we continue to meet the needs of our ESHT colleagues, now and into the future.

Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Nurse to join our Occupational Health (OH) team at East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust. This role will support the delivery of core OH activities, including:

  • Absence management within our Case Management function
  • Pre-employment health screening
  • Providing expert Occupational Health advice and guidance

Ideally, applicants will hold a recognised Occupational Health qualification. We offer a supportive environment with access to both local in-house training and nationally accredited development opportunities.

Our team culture is built on the Trust’s values of Dignity, Kindness, and Inclusivity. We are committed to delivering the highest quality of care to our colleagues and fostering an environment where all team members feel respected, heard, and empowered. Everyone is encouraged to contribute ideas and engage in constructive dialogue to support continuous service improvement.

If you are passionate about making a positive impact on the health and wellbeing of the NHS workforce, we would love to hear from you.

A wide range of staff benefits are available to our staff including:

  • Staff development
  • Enrolment in the NHS pension scheme
  • Auto-enrolment to our Temporary Workforce Service
  • Access to onsite nurseries, staff restaurants, and accommodation.

In addition to an internal Occupational Health department, all staff also have access to free psychological support through our confidential Employee Assistance Programme. Onsite parking is available from only £50 a year.

There has never been a better time to join East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust; submit your application today.
